Evaluation
The entire course
discusses on all aspects of being a worker in an ECCE setting and learning all
important regulations and guidelines set by the HSE. Like the legislation affecting Children’s
Health and Well-being, the United Nations Convention on the rights of the
child, the Childcare Act of 1991, Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act of
2005, the Disability Act of 2005, the Childcare Regulations of 2006 and the
Children First Guidelines of 1999, Our Duty to Care of 2004.
Promoting
the health and welfare of the child requires protection from harm, provision of
nutritious food, appropriate opportunities for rest, and secure relationships
characterized by trust and respect.
Policies, procedures and actions Prevention of
illness is based on awareness of how diseases are spread and how cleanliness is
used to control its transmission. Accurate information on exclusion periods for
common communicable diseases should be sought and followed and an illness
policy developed (French, 2003; Moloney, 2006).
